June 16, 2021 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Real Monarchs News Release
HERIMMAN, Utah - The Real Monarchs announced the signing of forward Charlie Wehan out of Stanford University.
"Charlie is a bright-young attacking talent who enjoyed a successful career with Stanford, and we are pleased to have him join the Real Monarchs, adding offensive depth to our squad," Technical Director Kurt Schmid said.
Wehan, 22, spent his four-year collegiate career with the Cardinal, winning three Pac-12 trophies and the 2017 NCAA Championship. In 72 matches, he recorded 10 goals and 18 assists and earned All-Pac-12 honors three times.
The California native becomes the second in his family to sign for a team in the USL Championship, as his older brother, Chris Wehan, currently plays for Orange County SC and previously spent time with Reno 1868 and New Mexico United.
The Real Monarchs host El Paso Locomotive on Friday, June 18 at Zions Bank Stadium with kickoff set for 8:00 p.m. MT. Tickets can be purchased by calling 844.REAL.TIX or visiting RealMonarchs.com.
