Reading's Dalton Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J.- Matt Dalton of the Reading ‚¬Ë†Royals is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 14-20.

The 24 year old was 3-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.97 goals-against average and a .974 save percentage in three appearances for the Royals who improved their league-best record to 34-13-5 for 73 points.

Dalton recorded his third shutout of the season with 48 saves in a 1-0 win over Wheeling on ‚¬Ë†Friday and then made 27 saves in a 3-1 victory against the Nailers on ‚¬Ë†Saturday. He ended the week with 37 saves in a 5-2 win against Elmira on ‚¬Ë†Sunday.

The Clinton, Ontario native is 14-6-1 in 21 appearances with the ‚¬Ë†Royals this season with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage which ranks second in the league. Dalton has also appeared in 16 AHL games with Providence going 7-9-0 with two shutouts, a 3.20 goals-against average and a save percentage of .894.

As a rookie last season, ‚¬Ë†Dalton saw action in 46 regular-season games with the ‚¬Ë†Royals posting a 22-20-4 record with one shutout, a 3.47 goals-against average and a save percentage of .906. In 16 Kelly Cup ‚¬Ë†Playoff games with ‚¬Ë†Reading he went 10-6 with a 3.02 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

Runners Up: Ryan Nie, Kalamazoo (2-0-1, 1.62 GAA, .950 save pct.) and Zane Kalemba, ‚¬Ë†Stockton (2-1-1, 1.22 GAA, .951 save pct.).
