RazorSharks Win Third Straight, Beat Destroyers 119-82

In front of their biggest home crowd of the season, the Mid-Michigan Destroyers put up a good fight against the defending Premier Basketball League Champion Rochester Razorsharks for two and a half quarters. However, the final quarter and a half proved fatal as they fell 119-82.

The game started off slowly for the Destroyers, who fell behind by 11 points in the second quarter. A mini run by the Destroyers, capped off by a buzzer beating two point shot by Justin Hall brought them to within 48-41 at the break.

The home team cut the lead to a single possession at 58-55 with 7:00 to go in the third frame on an Odgra Bobo tap in. However, the Razorsharks led by Keith Friel's four second half three pointers went on a 23-9 run to end the quarter to take a 81-64 lead after three.

The Destroyers weren't able to amount a comeback in the final quarter, as Rochester made several high- light dunks, including several by Sammy Monroe to finish off the home team.

The Razorsharks improved to 4-3 with the win, while the Destroyers fell to 2-5.

Rochester had seven players score in double digits, led by James Reaves with 20 points, Aaron Williams with 17, Monroe with 15, and with Friel, who put in all 14 of his points in the second half. The Destroyers were led by Bobo, who had a game high 25 points. Marcus Skinner put in 16 points, while Oscar Sanders scored 14.

Mid-Michigan hits the road to play the Augusta Groove on Saturday, Jan. 31, while the Razorsharks return home to play the Wilmington Sea Dawgs on Sunday, Feb. 1.
