
Razorsharks' win streak ends in Reading

(Reading, PA)...The Rochester RazorSharks' (11-2) 10 game win streak comes to an end with a 15 point loss to the Reading Railers (5-7), 114-99. The 15-point loss is a new RazorSharks' opponent record. The Railers finished the game with 6 players in double figures, three with at least 20 points. This was the 2nd straight game a RazorSharks' opponent scored at least 100 points. Rochester's defense was missing two key components, Vidal Massiah (ankle) and Marlin Johnson (flu).
Reading was led by Jared Mills' game-high 23 points, 20 coming in the 1st half and shooting 7 of 13 from the field along with 3 of 5 from behind the arc. Reading newcomer, J.R. Morris, finished with 21 points, shooting 4 of 6 from behind the arc, totaling 7 of 9 from the field.
The Railers set four new records for a RazorSharks opponent, three coming in the 1st half, and all previously held by the Strong Island Sound (ABA) set on November 16, 2005. Reading started their record-breaking game with a 15 point 1st quarter lead, 33-18, assisted by a 13-3 run with 2:22 left in the opening quarter. The Railers also set new records for halftime points with 67 and a halftime lead of 23 points. Reading's 2nd quarter was keyed by a 14-4 run to close out the half. The 15 point difference is the biggest loss in RazorSharks history.
The RazorSharks were led by Sammy Monroe's 24 points and James "Mook" Reaves' league-leading 5th double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds and a game-high 3 steals. Rochester continues their two-game road trip, taking on the Maryland Nighthawks (3-9) tomorrow night, Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 4:00pm in a rematch from this past Thursday, a 125-106 RazorSharks win.
