RazorSharks Outlast The Impact

Rochester RazorSharks News Release


(Chicago, IL)...The Rochester RazorSharks (16-2) defeated the Arkansas Impact (8-9) in a tight defensive battle, 91-84. The RazorSharks were led by Steve Hailey with 18 points, shooting 10 of 12 from the free throw line and finished with 5 assists. The RazorSharks set a new franchise-low for halftime score with 39 points. Arkansas was led by Jeremy Bell with 22 points and 5 assists. Arkansas played with only 8 players and was in foul trouble the entire game with and 7 of them finishing with at least 4 fouls.

The 1st quarter was a hard-fought low-scoring battle with Arkansas coming away with a 17-13 lead. The RazorSharks opened up the 2nd quarter on an 11-0 run in the first 3:30 minutes, which gave them their largest lead of the game, 24-17. Rochester would lead the rest of the half, but Arkansas was able to limit the RazorSharks to a 39-34 halftime lead.

With 9:26 to go in the 3rd quarter, Arkansas regained the lead, 42-41, on a 3-pointer by Nick Tuggle, as the Impact went on a 14-2 run and up by a game-high 10 points, 53-43, before Rochester called a timeout with 5:08 remaining in the 3rd. Following the RazorSharks timeout, Rochester rolled off a 15-2 run with 18.5 seconds left in the quarter leading 58-55. Jeremy Bell would break that run with a 3-pointer to tie it up at 58-58 with 0.3 seconds left in the quarter.

With the game tied 81-81 with 2:01 to play, the RazorSharks went on a 10-3 run to close out the game and come away with the hard fought 7-point victory. Steve Hailey's clutch free throws down the stretch were the difference as he shot 6 of 8 from the line in the 4th quarter.

The RazorSharks return to Rochester to play their final regular season home game on Wednesday, March 12th against the Maryland Nighthawks at 7:00pm. The first 500 fans at the game will receive a free RazorSharks t-shirt.
