RazorSharks dominate in the Windy City

(Chicago, IL)...In the 8th game of the PBL's Super Scouting Showcase, the Rochester RazorSharks (14-2) came away victorious against the Chicago Throwbacks (4-13) 121-96. James Reaves and Sammy Monroe teamed up with 21 points each to lead the RazorSharks to the 25-point victory. The last time Rochester played Chicago, the Throwbacks were without their two leading scorers, but were still unable to change the outcome. Chicago's leading scorers entering tonight's game, Stanley Thomas (avg. 22.3 points) and Jerome Harper (avg. 17.4 points), finished with 16 and 24 points, respectively.

In a tight opening 1st quarter, Chicago used a 10-2 run with 3:50 remaining to build an 8-point lead 20-12. However, the RazorSharks closed out the quarter on a 14-3 run and took a 26-23 lead. Rochester's James Reaves led the early going with 9 points, shooting 5 of 6 from the charity stripe.

The Throwbacks went on an 8-0 run with 5:08 left in the 2nd quarter to come within a point of Rochester's lead, 40-39. Just as Chicago looked to make it a game again, Rochester used a big 18-5 run to finish the quarter, and a 58-44 lead. James Reaves finished the 1st half with 16 points and continued to dominate the boards with 8 rebounds. Four of Chicago's starters closed out the half with at least 3 fouls.

Rochester pushed their lead to 22 points off of Derik Hollyfield's (Aurora, IL) 3-pointer with 1:15 remaining. Hollyfield playing in front of friends and family, finished with 15 points. Rochester's largest lead of 26 points came on a Keith Friel layup with 4:21 remaining in the game.

The RazorSharks finish off their play in the Triple "S" Showcase tomorrow at 12:45pm (CST) against the Dallas Defenders (5-10), who are coming off a victory over the Wilmington Sea Dawgs (9-7), 105-103.
