Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Reading, PA)...The Rochester RazorSharks (7-1) extended their win streak to 6 games, with a 95-71 victory over the Reading Railers (2-7). Rochester had 6 players in double figures, led by Jerice Crouch's 18 points. Reading came into today's game after a 124-122 OT loss to Quad Cities on Thursday night, missing 23 free throws (37-60), but it was their shooting from the field that led to their demise. Reading finished the game shooting 34.3% which helped the RazorSharks to the 24-point victory.

Following a dismal shooting performance in the 1st quarter by both teams, the RazorSharks led 17-14.

In the 2nd quarter, the RazorSharks built a 25-point lead, assisted by a 14-0 run with 4:30 minutes left in the half. Reading shot 4 for 18 (.222) from the field, and finished the half 9 for 34 (.265). Rochester led at the end of the 1st half with a score of 50-27. Jerice Crouch's led all half time scores with 12 points, all in the 2nd quarter.

The 27 points scored in the 1st half by Reading was a new record-low for a RazorSharks' opponent. The previous record-low of 28 points was against the Buffalo Silverbacks (ABA) on January, 26 2006.

The second half was tight the rest of the way, but Reading couldn't overcome their poor 1st half shooting. James "Mook" Reaves finished with 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Marlin Johnson had a season-high 16 points, all in the 2nd half and 13 of them coming in the 4th quarter. Ira Miller led the Railers with 15 points.

The RazorSharks continue their road trip, taking on the Maryland Knighthawks (1-6) on Sunday, February 10 at 4:00pm following Maryland's game tonight at 7:00pm versus the Wilmington Sea Dawgs (7-2).
