Rattlers to get closer to fans
May 18, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Las Vegas Rattlers News Release
Las Vegas, NV. While everyone enjoyed the venue that the ABA Las Vegas Rattlers professional basketball team used last season, the venue has been sold to a Church. As a result, the owners of the Rattlers sought out a new location for their games for the season beginning in November. With many options available to them in the Entertainment Capital of the World, they have found an exciting new venue of their own in one of America's fastest growing cities - North Las Vegas - just minutes from the famed Las Vegas Strip.
And according to Gil Morgan, co-owner, "This venue will be much closer to the fans." He continued, "In our search for a new home, however, several major hotels asked about the possibility of playing some of the Rattlers home games there and we are definitely considering it."
Roy Hammonds, also a co-owner of the team, added, "We now have our own facility for practices and games - and we have been contacted by several groups wanting to utilize the facility also. We will be offering camps year round to get people of all ages back into enjoying the game of basketball."
Morgan closed with, "We'll be announcing the venue name and location shortly. We're getting ready for use - and will have a major press conference to intoduce it to the community. We are genuinely excited - and 2005 will be a great year for the Rattlers." For more information, contact Gil Morgan at gmorgan29@aol.com or visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
