Rattlers' Joe Walters To Throw Out First Pitch Sunday

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Rattlers midfielder Joe Walters will throw out the first pitch at the Rochester Red Wings' AAA baseball game on Sunday, August 31st at Frontier Field. The Red Wings host the Buffalo Bisons at 7:05 p.m. on Fan Appreciation Night.

Walters was named the Playoff MVP as the Rattlers defeated the Denver Outlaws 16-6 to win their first Major League Lacrosse championship last Sunday in Boston. Walters led all playoff scorers with 11 points (6+5) in two games.

The midfielder, who was named an All-MLL Team selection this year, enjoyed his best season as a pro this year while helping the Rattlers secure the top seed in the NB Zip MLL Championship Weekend. He scored 32 goals with 12 assists in 12 games for the Rattlers, which ranked second on the team in points. With 44 points, he was tied for sixth in the MLL and ranked second among midfielders.

He scored a season-high six goals with an assist in a May 31st win over Philadelphia and added a five-goal, one-assist performance against the Barrage three weeks later. He also scored five goals and two assists in a win over New Jersey on July 19th.

Walters played his high school lacrosse locally at Irondequoit.
