IFL Indoor Football League

Rattlers Claim Top Spot in Week 11 Coaches Poll

July 6, 2021 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release

Now halfway through the 2021 season, the Indoor Football League presented its Week 10 Coaches Poll. The coaches panel is represented by the 11 head coaches across the league.

After routing the Tucson Sugar Skulls, 54-38, in Week 11, combined with the Massachusetts Pirates upset win over the Frisco Fighters, the Arizona Rattlers earned the top spot in the coaches poll for the first time since Week Five. Quarterback Drew Powell put on another stellar performance, completing 16 passes on 21 attempts for 173 yards and five touchdowns. Powell, who leads the league in rushing, also had eight attempts on the ground for 32 yards and one touchdown.

Since losing their first game of the season, the Rattlers have won five-straight games and lead the league in points per game (49.0) as a team.

The Massachusetts Pirates jumped from the eighth spot to number four after handing the Frisco Fighters their first loss of the season. The Pirates defeated the Fighters, 38-37, after Josh Gable drilled a 27-yard field goal at the buzzer to win the game.

That marks two-consecutive game-winning field for Gable. He knocked in a 46-yard field to seal Massachusetts' victory over the Tucson Sugar Skulls in week nine.

Each head coach's ballot includes his ranking of the IFL teams, with first-place votes earning one point, second place two points, and so on to 11 points for 11th-ranked team. The teams are then listed in order, with the team with the fewest points on top.

The entire Coaches Poll is as follows:

Arizona Rattlers

Spokane Shock

Frisco Fighters

Massachusetts Pirates

Sioux Falls Storm

Iowa Barnstormers

Bismarck Bucks

Green Bay Blizzards

Duke City Gladiators

Northern Arizona Wranglers

Tucson Sugar Skulls
