
Rattlers and Lobos Staff Join Turfcats Sports Medicine Team

Austin, TX - Head trainers of San Marcos High School and Lehman High School have joined forces. The team named Jaime Perez, Head Trainer at San Marcos High School and Andi Green of Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas as Head Trainers for the Austin Turfcats for their run to the 2009 Southern Indoor Football League championship.
The students at these respective high schools will assist the medical staff and head trainers at all Austin Turfcats games.
"I am so excited about giving the kids at these two schools in Central Texas a positive experience and also give them the chance to work in professional sports," Turfcats General Manager/Vice-President Ronald Oswalt said. "Anything we can do to give back to our local schools and community is why we are here. I love having those Rattlers and Lobos on our team."
Perez is in his 23rd year as a Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainer, he was the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Ragin' Cajuns at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He was the Head Athletic Trainer at both Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
He has also served as Director of Sports Medicine for Lafayette General Medical Center and is currently the Head Athletic Trainer at San Marcos High School. Perez has worked numerous of events throughout his career; he was highlighted by being part of the 1992 National Championship football team for the Thundering Herd at Marshall University and working as a site Chief Athletic Trainer for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
Perez is also an independent contractor as a drug testing collector that has done numerous of collections for the NBA, NFL, MLB and MLS. Perez currently resides in Kyle, TX with wife Yvonne and their two boys Jaime II, age 12 and Enrique age 8.
"The idea of having our kids involved in a game day experience is very exciting," said Jaime Perez, Head Trainer at San Marcos High School and long time football fan.
Andi Green is in her 17th year as a Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainer. Initially, she spent three years on the staff of HealthSouth Sports Medicine in Austin, Texas working both in the clinic and doing outreach work covering Concordia Lutheran College and various local high schools and club programs.
For the past 14 years, Green has been employed by the Hays CISD. After 9 years as the assistant as Hays High School, she became the Head Athletic Trainer and part of the founding faculty at Lehman High School in 2004.
A member of several professional organizations, Green is a past president of the Tarleton Athletic Trainers' Association and the Alamo Area Athletic Trainers' Association. She is also a member of the NATA, SWATA, and the newly formed Central Texas Athletic Trainers' Society. Green currently resides in Buda, TX with husband Terry, who is a high school football coach, and their sons Zak and Ty. They also have a daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Leo Rivera, in College Station, Texas and a daughter, Ashley, who is a senior at Baylor University.
"I am excited by the opportunity to be part of the Turfcats program and create a positive relationship between the Lehman Lobos and the Turfcats," said Green.
