
Rascals sign infielder Joe Giacomiazzio

The River City Rascals have signed former Montclair State standout first baseman Joseph Giacomiazzio to a contract for the 2004 season. The Rascals now have eleven players signed for the upcoming season.
Giacomiazzio, 23, led Montclair State in hitting during his two seasons on the team. He was named All-NJAC First-Team, All-NJCBA Second Team and Third-Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region by the ABCA. He was also awarded the MSU Co-Senior Male Athlete of the Year.
The 6-0, 200lb left-handed hitter batted .423 with 5 HR and 38 RBI while playing in all 38 games for the Red Hawks last season. Giacomiazzio batted .416 with 10 HR and 66 RBI in 75 games over two years with Montclair State. He currently resides in East Brunswick, NJ during the off-season.
The 2004 River City Rascals opening night is on Friday May 21st, as the Rascals will host Gateway at 7:05 in the SONIC Crosstown Clash.
