Rock River Raptors News Release

Rockford, IL - The Rock River Raptors and Coach Richards are proud to announce the singing of Craig Howard C and Mike Davis FB.

Craig Howard is a 6'4" 321 pound Center from Virginia Military Institute. At VMI Howard was an All-American at tackle. Howard started his freshmen season at Center, sophomore year at guard, and was moved to tackle as a junior. After Graduating from VMI he went to camp with the Houston Texans and the Minnesota Vikings. Last season Howard was part of Coach Richards' Championship team in Richmond Virginia. At Richmond Howard started 12 games, 5 at Center, and the rest at Guard allowing no sacks on the season.

Mike Davis is a 6'2" 255 Fullback form Virginia Tech. At his days at Virginia Tech Davis has three Bowl Rings to go along with his Championship ring from Richmond. Davis will also see time at linebacker and might handle long snapping duties. Davis was key part of Coach Richards' Championship team last year because Davis was a threat on both sides of the ball. Davis racked up 5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 34 tackles, 4 fumble recoveries, and an interception returned for a TD on defense. On the Offensive side of the ball Davis had 6 rushing Touchdowns on offense including a 3 carry, 35 yard performance with a TD run in the AIFL Championship game. Davis was also part of the AIFL All-star team after the 2005 season. Before playing with Richmond, Davis played two seasons with Coach Richards with the Charleston Swamp Foxes.

When asked about brining former players to Rockford Coach Richards replied "now there are 3 championship rings running around here, and we are aiming for more. Both players are here in town so it is good that they can get settled and start working for a run at the United Bowl Trophy."
