
Raptors sign former Alabama A&M defensive end Fernandez Shaw

Huntsville, Ala. â The Tennessee Valley Raptors have added former Alabama A&M defensive end Fernandez Shaw and ex-Stillman offensive lineman Jeremy Adwaters to their 2005 roster.
Shaw (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) was a second-team All-SWAC selection as senior during the 2003 season for the Bulldogs. He finished seventh on the team with 38 tackles, first with 14.5 stops for a loss and had 5.5 sacks.
A native of Tacoma, WA, Shaw ended his Alabama A&M career with a 31-game total of 71 tackles and seven sacks.
Adwaters (6-4, 282) was a two-year starter at Stillman from 2003-04 after transferring from Alabama A&M.
The Raptors expect 34 players to report today for physicals and will have team meetings Monday. Tennessee Valley opens training camp Tuesday with 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. practices to begin two-a-day workouts at Calvary Hill.
The Raptors open the United Indoor Football season March 19 at Evansville and play their first home game April 16 against the Tupelo Fire Ants at the Von Braun Center.
