Colorado Rapids News Release

COLORADO VS. LOS ANGELES ALL-TIME: The Colorado vs. Los Angeles all-time series stands at 11-22-4. In the last four home games against Los Angeles, Colorado is unbeaten at 1-0-3. The Black and Blue hold a record of 8-7-3 overall at home against the Galaxy. This Wednesday night, the Rapids will try to get their first home shut-out against the Galaxy since 2003.

COLORADO NEEDS TO KEEP PRESSURE ON: Colorado needs to play a solid, complete game against Los Angeles: all-time, Colorado has been outscored 36-15 in the final 45 minutes of play against the Galaxy, compared to 23-18 in the initial 45 minutes. If the Rapids can keep it close toward the end of the game the odds are better, especially since Colorado has one more overall regular season overtime goal (three) than Los Angeles in the series.

HAPPY HOUR WEDNESDAY: On Wednesday starting at 5:00 p.m. the Rapids will again present the fan-favorite Rapids Pre-game Happy Hour presented by The Village at Legacy Ridge from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on the stadium south deck. Fans should plan to arrive early, as from 5:00-7:30 p.m. the Happy Hour will be in full effect, with music, foosball contests and food and drink specials, including $2 drafts, $2 wells and $3.50 margaritas. The Rapids Pre-game Happy Hour presented by The Village at Legacy Ridge is open to fans of all ages holding a game ticket.

STANDINGS IN THE WEST: Colorado could really use a win and three points against a Western Conference foe; the Rapids are currently in fifth place with eight points and are only three points behind Rocky Mountain rivals Real Salt Lake. A win would also keep the Rapids within distance of San Jose for third place in the West; San Jose are also the team who the Rapids play at the end of the month.

LARGEST DODGEBALL GAME EVER: Prior to the game between the Rapids and FC Dallas on Saturday June 25, INVESCO Field at Mile High will play host to the largest dodgeball game ever. The game will start at 4:45 and run until 5:15 p.m., and the entry fee is only $16. Teams can sign up by calling the Rapids at (303) 825-GOAL. Between the dodgeball game and the Rapids game, which kicks off at 7:00pm, fans can enjoy the Rapids Pregame Happy Hour presented by The Village at Legacy Ridge from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on the stadium south deck.

HUNTER FREEMAN & CO. DEFEAT ARGENTINA: The United States Under-20 Men's Soccer Team upset Argentina in the first round of the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland. The win was the first time in history that the U.S. beat Argentina at a FIFA World Youth Championship. Colorado Rapids defender Hunter Freeman was a big part of the U.S. victory as he played the full 90 minutes, and he is expected to play in the second match against Germany on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. (MT).
