Rapids 2's Adam Beaudry Named Finalist for MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Year

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Colorado Rapids 2 goalkeeper Adam Beaudry has been named as a finalist for the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Year, the league announced today. All awards were voted on by the head coaches and chief soccer officers of MLS NEXT Pro clubs, as well as League broadcast and content teams.

"Adam represents much of what is great about this league," said Erik Bushey, Rapids 2 Head Coach. "He is a top young talent who needs high level competition to reach his ultimate goals. He has the technical and athletic qualities to continue to progress, but even more so, he has the mental fortitude to keep progressing. He has been tested this season in many ways and he has either passed the test or learned from it. Regardless of the challenge, he's been prepared to face it head-on."

Beaudry is entering his second year with the Rapids organization after a successful youth career with Real Colorado. After spending a season with the Rapids Academy's U-17 team, Beaudry earned the opportunity to make his professional debut with Rapids 2 on April 30, 2023, in the team's match against North Texas SC. Since then, Beaudry has appeared in 16 matches (16 starts) and has maintained three clean sheets to help his team to a No. 1 overall seed in MLS NEXT Pro. His performances over the course of the 2023 season have earned Beaudry an MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month award for both May and July, along with a Rising Star of Matchday award for Matchday 16.

As a top young talent, Beaudry has had the opportunity to train and compete with the U.S. U-17 Men's Youth National Team as it continues its preparation for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, scheduled to take place from November 10 to December 2 in Indonesia. The U.S. was one of four teams to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup at February's Concacaf U-17 Championship in Guatemala. During his time at the Concacaf U-17 Championship, Beaudry helped his team to a spot in the final where the U.S. fell short to Mexico in a 3-1 loss. The Rapids goalkeeper made three starts for the U-17s during the tournament and recorded two clean sheets and three wins for his side.

Most recently, Beaudry traveled to the Czech Republic to train and compete with the U.S. from September 1 to 11 in the Vaclav Jezek Tournament. Beaudry made two starts over the course of the tournament, playing in the team's matches versus Ukraine (3-2 win) and Czech Republic (0-2 loss).
