Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League announced today that the team's next home game against the Chicago Rush on March 29 is officially sold out (10,594). The team also announced that WXSP-TV (Channel 18), the team's flagship station, will televise the game locally.
The divisional game against Chicago will mark the Rampage's third sellout of 2003, tying the Colorado Crush for the most sellouts in the AFL this season. The game also marks Grand Rapids' seventh regular season sellout in team history. Last season, the Rampage played in front of a league-leading three sellout crowds, the team's first campaign with multiple sellouts.
"We anticipate an incredibly electric atmosphere at Van Andel Arena," said Bob Sack, Rampage senior vice president of sales & marketing. "The game offers a superb Central Division rivalry and an important matchup in the championship race. Also, thousands of fans attending as part of groups will add to the festivities."
"With the demand for tickets far exceeding supply, we're delighted thousands of West Michigan sports fans can still view the game on television," Sack added. Veteran Rampage broadcasters Joe Parson and Tom Sullivan will handle the play-by-play and color analyst duties of WSXP's live broadcast.
For the people that were unable to get a ticket to the Rampage's lone March home game, plenty of tickets remain for the team's home contests versus the Las Vegas Gladiators on Sunday, April 13 and Arizona Rattlers on Saturday, April 19. The Las Vegas contest, which kicks off at 3 p.m., is slated to be the Rampage's second home game on NBC Sports.
Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Rampage office at (616) 559-1871 or Tickets PLUS at (616) 222-4000 or (800) 585-3737. Tickets are also available at The Zone, located on the west side of Van Andel Arena, all West Michigan Meijer locations, and on-line at www.ticketsplus.net and the Rampage Web site.
