Rampage To Hold Open Tryout Saturday

The Grand Rapids Rampage are holding an open free-agent tryout camp. Those who register for the tryout will go through various non-contact football drills and speed and strength tests.
When: Saturday (Aug. 19); 8 a.m.-12 p.m. EDT.
Where: The Soccer Spot, 3701 32nd St., Kentwood, MI 49512
The Story: Since 2005, the Rampage have signed more players from open tryouts than any other Arena Football League team. Ten players have earned AFL contracts from the team's open tryouts in the last two seasons, including Rampage WR/DB Timon Marshall, who led the AFL in all-purpose yards and was a finalist for the AFL's 2006 Ironman of the Year award. Additional AFL legends have emerged from open tryouts, including former Rampage WR/DB and ArenaBowl XIX Most Valuable Player/Ironman Willis Marshall and two-time NFL MVP Kurt Warner.
