Over 20 New Players Looking to Make the Cut
Grand Rapids, MI - The ArenaBowl XV Champion Grand Rapids Rampage will hold their 2002 Mini-Camp this Wednesday through Friday (March 20-22) at their official practice home, The Soccer Spot, located at the intersection of 32nd Street and Lake Eastbrook Boulevard in Kentwood.
Approximately 34 players are arriving in Grand Rapids before Wednesday, and they'll take part in a series of athletic tests and physical evaluations. The camp participants, who include members of the Rampage's 40-man off-season roster, are predominantly players who are entering their first full season with the Rampage organization.
Practice sessions will run from 8-9:30 a.m. and 10:15-11:45 a.m. each day. The remainder of the schedule will be filled with film evaluations and meetings.
The practices, which are free and open to the public, will allow Rampage fans to catch their first glimpse of the 2002 team. Among those participating will be quarterbacks Clint Dolezel, Nick Browder and Todd Hammel, offensive specialists Deon Mitchell and Robert Hall, and wide receiver/defensive backs Willis Marshall and Kotto Cotton.
Following mini-camp, the Rampage will open their 2002 Training Camp with 30 players this Sunday, March 24 at The Soccer Spot. A complete schedule and roster for training camp will be released later this week.
