Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
GRAND RAPIDS - The Grand Rapids Rampage and MC Sports, committed to supporting the growth of football throughout West Michigan, have teamed up to help support thousands of youth athletes this fall. The two organizations will work to provide equipment, including footballs and mouth guards, for local youth football programs to use during the upcoming 2008 youth football season.
The Rampage will provide 200 Spalding AFL-style youth footballs to teams in the Grand Rapids Youth Athletic Organization, the Northern Rocket Football League and the West Michigan Junior Football League. Meanwhile, MC Sports will donate 1,000 mouth guards of its own to help protect children playing in the GRYAO this year.
Additionally, the Rampage and MC Sports will donate a professional passing net to the Jenison Cub Football program. The net will help young quarterbacks hone their skills by improving the accuracy and touch of their passes.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for the Rampage organization to assist youth football programs in West Michigan," said Ruth Lobbestael, Rampage director of youth football. "Our goal is to address the safety and equipment needs of these programs in order to help make football accessible to all youth athletes. The support of MC Sports has been instrumental in achieving this goal."
