
Ramon Nunez Joins Nana Attakora on NASL Team of the Week

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Two assists in the Strikers 3-1 road victory over Carolina RailHawks last Saturday were enough for Ramon Nuñez to earn his first-ever place on the North American Soccer League (NASL) Team of the Week.
Nuñez joins teammate Nana Attakora on the Team of the Week. On Monday, Attakora was recognized by the NASL as the top player in Week 6, after the defender tallied an assist and scored the game-winning goal to propel Fort Lauderdale to their first win of the season, and a first-ever win on the road against the RailHawks.
Here is the full list of members of the latest Team of the Week:
GK: Daniel Fernandes (Rayo OKC) - The Portuguese 'keeper kept a clean sheet as Rayo OKC picked up its second win on the road in Florida with a 1-0 win over Jacksonville Armada FC.
DEF: Papé Diakité (FC Edmonton) - The Senegal native scored the lone goal in the Eddies' 1-0 win over Jacksonville Armada FC, while putting in a strong effort on the back line to keep the clean sheet. He then put in another solid shift in a 1-1 draw with Indy Eleven. Over the two games, Diakité made 15 clearances, seven interceptions, while winning eight duels.
DEF: Nana Attakora (Fort Lauderdale Strikers) - The Canadian international lifted the Strikers to its first win of the season after assisting and then scoring in the 3-1 win over the Carolina RailHawks, who were atop the Spring Season Standings at the time. Attakora also made six clearances and won four duels. He was named Player of the Week.
DEF: Greg Janicki (Indy Eleven) - The veteran defender got on the scoresheet for Indy in the club's draw. He also made six clearances and three interceptions.
MID: Richard Menjivar (Rayo OKC) -The Salvadoran international provided energy for Rayo OKC and only misplaced three passes all game.
MID: Ramón Núñez (Fort Lauderdale Strikers) - The Honduran international put in his best performance early into his tenure with the Strikers and provided two assists in the club's first win of the Spring Season.
MID: Juan Arango (New York Cosmos) - The Venezuelan international helped lead the Cosmos to a big win over Miami FC. He scored the first goal in the 3-0 victory.
MID: Marcel de Jong (Ottawa Fury FC) - The Canadian international came off the bench and provided a spark for Ottawa. His cross deflected into the back of the net for an own goal and then he scored a late equalizer in the 2-2 draw with Minnesota United.
FWD: Christian Ramirez (Minnesota United) - He scored a league-leading fourth goal of the Spring Season, while creating two other chances in the draw with Ottawa.
FWD: Jake Keegan (FC Edmonton) - He found the target for the second time this year when his header helped the Eddies to a draw in Indianapolis. That goal followed a strong shift against Jacksonville, where the forward was unlucky to not get on the scoresheet.
FWD: Jairo Arrieta (New York Cosmos) - The Costa Rican international returned to the scoresheet with his tally to cap off a convincing Cosmos victory.
