Rainmen Victorious against Mill Rats

(Saint John, NB): The Halifax Rainmen continued their win streak in front of a hostile crowd in Saint John, 110-104 over the Mill Rats.

The Rainmen improved their record to a division best 5 wins with the only 3 loses. Halifax started the game executing on all cylinders putting the Mill Rats in a 17 point deficit early in the second quarter.

Halifax held a 54-41 lead at halftime. Saint John went on a run to close the gap to 79-74 at the end of the third quarter with Kenny Jones leading their charge. The Rainmen held their composure and connected on a pair of big threes by Seiya Ando and Justin Tubbs to close the game out.

Halifax had three players in double figures. Leading the way was Justin Tubbs who had a monster game off the bench scored 32 points and 4 rebounds. Tyrone Watson finished with 26 points, 8 rebounds and Seiya Ando chipped in 14 points.

The Saint John Mill Rats were led by Kenny Jones with 21 points and Jabs Newby with 16 points. The Rainmen held last year's MVP Anthony Anderson to just 11 points.

Halifax is back in action on Sunday, Dec 14th when they look to avenge their last loss to the Island Storm in the Scotiabank Centre at 2PM.
