Island Storm News Release

(Charlottetown, PE) The Island STORM brought a much better game to the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax Friday night but they came up just a little short as the Rainmen took a 2-0 series lead in the best of seven Atlantic Division Finals of the NBL Canada with a 107-105 win.

The STORM took a 56-46 lead into the dressing room at the half but it was the third quarter, the only quarter the STORM lost, which did them in. Halifax outscored the STORM 43-26 in the third and never looked back for the win. The STORM did make it very interesting in the closing seconds getting the Rainmen lead down to 3 from a 12 point deficit late in the game but just ran out of time.

Brandon Robinson had his strongest game of the playoffs scoring a game high 36 points. Mike Martin also had a strong game with a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds. Rashad Whack and Mike Williams scored 12 points each.

Kevin Young scored 26 points and leading the Rainmen for the second straight game. Joey Haywood and Tyrone Watson each scored 14.

It was a game which saw over 100 foul shots taken between the two teams with Halifax going 35 for 55 from the line and the STORM 38 for 47.
