Rainmen Make Trio of Moves

December 10, 2012 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) - Halifax Rainmen News Release

(HALIFAX,NS) The Halifax Rainmen are pleased to announce they have signed six-foot-eight 250 lbs forward Eric Frederick, pending FIBA clearance. Frederick averaged an impressive double double at Texas Wesleyan with 25.2 points per game and hauling down 10.1 rebounds per game.

"We like his up tempo style of play," said Rainmen head coach Rob Spon. "He is an explosive shot blocker and finisher, who can also face up to the basket and score. For a player his size he shoots the ball very very well, something we have been lacking."

Coach Rob Spon also announced they have released Center Paul Nelson and shooting guard Reed Baker.

Frederick wil join the team this week in practice and is expected to suit up this Thursday on the road vs Saint John, pending FIBA clearance.

The Rainmen are now 5 - 1 under coach Spon.

The Halifax Rainmen next home game is Sunday December 16 at 2pm vs Summerside Storm.
