Rainmen Lose in Disappointing Fashion to Atlantic Division Rivals Saint John

November 16, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Halifax Rainmen News Release

The Halifax Rainmen fell flat Sunday afternoon in a disappointing 110-95 loss to Atlantic Division Rivals, the Saint John Mill Rats. With the loss the Rainmen fall to 2-2 on the season.

Despite a competitive first half from both teams, which saw several lead changes before finishing 49-39 in favour of Saint John, Halifax never really found the offensive footing it was accustom to from their first three games. The offensive went quiet in the third quarter, allowing Saint John to head into the fourth with a commanding 80-56 lead. Halifax made a late charge as the game came to a close but ultimately the effort was too little too late.

Emmanuel Jones led all Rainmen with 18 points in addition to putting up 5 rebounds. Christopher Cayole, in his Rainmen debut, snagged 7 rebounds and put up 6 points. The Mill Rats were led by Kenny Jones, who dropped 25 points on the afternoon and Anthony Anderson who had 23. Tyrone Levett had 8 rebounds to lead all Mill Rats.

Halifax will be back in action next Sunday, November 23rd, when we travel to Moncton to face the Miracles with a 2pm tip-off time. The Rainmen will return home on Saturday November 29th against the Island Storm. Tip-off time is 7pm and tickets are still available through Ticket Atlantic, the Scotiabank Centre box office, or www.rainmenbasketball.ca
