Rain Wins Again, Cancels Jacks' Sunday Doubleheader
May 30, 2015 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
East Texas PumpJacks News Release
The East Texas Pump Jacks will stay in Tyler for the weekend after announcing Saturday that their Sunday doubleheader with the Woodland Strykers has been postponed. The doubleheader was scheduled after rain postponed the Pump Jacks' Saturday night contest with the Strykers, but Mother Nature had other plans.
The Pump Jacks played just five innings of their season opener on Thursday with the Texas Marshals before rain swept in, taking Friday night's matchup with it. The Jacks won't see action again until next Tuesday when they go on the road to play the Brazos Valley Bombers in Bryan.
The Pump Jacks aren't alone, though. Tuesday's meeting with the Bombers will be Brazos Valley's first game of the season. The Strykers also hope to play their first game of the summer on Tuesday.
After a two-game set against the Bombers, East Texas returns for their first-ever home game in Tyler next Thursday, June 4, when they welcome the Acadiana Cane Cutters to Irwin UT Tyler Ballpark.
