Raiders Trade with Tarpons

LAKELAND, FL - The Florida Tarpons and Lakeland Raiders have agreed on a multi player trade. The Tarpons (5-0) have received Raiders (3-2) Defensive End Joshua Long in exchange for Tarpons Defensive Back Aaron Hodges, WR Chuck Walker, and a undisclosed cash payment.
"Josh is a great young talent and I know he will have a great future ahead of him. When we lost Josh Smith, we knew we needed to get back a receiver with speed and Chuck will fit in our system great. We also look for Aaron to add skill to our secondary, " commented Michael Mink.
In two seasons with the Thundering Herd, Walker was regarded as a leader in the meeting room and on the field. He finished his collegiate career at Marshall, starting 25 games and recording 59 catches for 601 yards and five touchdowns.
Aaron's abilities found him facilitating MNU's NAIA National Championship play-off appearances in 3 of the 4 years he played. Winning conference rings in 2008. In the Spring of 2010, Aaron played in the NAIA Senior Classic Game, and earned the Defensive Player of The Game award. In that game he also set the record for the longest interception returned for a touchdown at 63 yards.
The Raiders also are happy to announce the re-signing of Joshua Julmiste. Julmiste played the first game with the Raiders and recorded 2 sacks. He has re-joined the team after being away since the first game. "I'm happy to be back and ready to get to work, " commented Julmiste.
The Raiders coming off of a 59-51 loss to the Tarpons at Jenkins Arena and are currently in a bye week. We will return play after our bye week at Jenkins Arena on Friday, April 27th against the Rome Rampage.
