Florida Tarpons News Release

FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Tarpons and Lakeland Raiders have agreed on a multi player trade. The Tarpons (5-0) have received Raiders (2-3) Defensive End Joshua Long in exchange for Tarpons Defensive Back Aaron Hodges, WR Chuck Walker, and a undisclosed cash payment.

"I'd like to thank both Aaron and Chuck for their efforts in SWFL and their contributions to the organization both on and off the field. They are both good athletes, and great people and wish them luck in their new home." Said Tarpons Owner Andrew Haines

Defensive End Joshua Long (6'5$B!m(B 280) was born and raised in the Fort Myers area, and played high school football at Fort Myers High. After high school Long attended Georgia Military Academy, and then on to Webber International.

The Tarpons struggled to put pressure on the Lakeland Raiders QB last week (no sacks in the game), and also had trouble against the Mississippi Hound Dogs in their last game against each other.

"The one area we felt we needed to address quickly was our pass rush. When the opportunity came about to acquire Long, we jumped at the opportunity. With his athletic ability, and his local ties to SWFL, we felt this puts us in the best position to compete for a championship. Stated Head Coach Michael Taylor.

The Florida Tarpons return to action on Saturday April 28th at Germain Arena to face the Mississippi Hound Dogs. For more information visit www.floridatarpons.com.
