Lakeland Raiders News Release
The hard work and dedication Coach Mink put into training these young men certainly paid off this passed weekend as his Cavaliers defeated the Titans 48-02.
The offense played very well with no turnovers and a ton of output. Team QB Inacio Martins played his first game at the helm for the Cavs and did a fantastic job of managing pressure and producing big plays. His favorite target was WR Diego Aparicio who caught both of Martin's two touchdown passes.
"It was the first game the team had after just over four months without official games. The result was very good, but we made too many mistakes early in the match. However, with the start of the state championship, we can fix these errors and tune the team for the national championship, which is our main goal this year."

The teams HB Taylson "Cardinal" put up over 100 yards rushing in the first half alone to help rocket the Cavs passed the Titans. An incredible performance by Cardinal, who visited the end zone twice, along with the teams other HB Antonio "Ratatouille," totaling four TDs for the ground game. Cardinal was ejected in the 2nd quarter for a helmet-to-helmet violation while carrying the ball on a play. Antonio then took over and maintained the production the Cavs needed to continue dominance over the Titans.
The Cavs offensive line didn't allow any sacks throughout the entire game. The QB had all the time he needed to deliver the ball generating a ton of confidence for him as the game progressed. The offensive line was highlighted by the play of OG Jandao Andrade.
The newly improved Mink defense handled the Titans with ease. The teams MLB and Captain Caio "Tractor" lead the defense with two forced turnovers and one score. DTs Philipp Lavor and Raphael Rady highlighted the defensive line's stellar play. The defense only allowed one first down the entire game and it wasn't until the third quarter.
"Paulo Barcelos and his staff did a great job this weekend putting on this game. I don't think enough credit is given to Paulo for all the long hours and time he puts into this team. I look at him and I see a reflection of myself in the mirror of the things he does to make this team happen here in Manaus, Amazonas."

Special teams lived up to expectations and even produced a fumble recovery of their own when OLB Victor Alcantara scooped up the pigskin on the last play of the game.
"The Training camp most certainly paid off with a dominating performance in this first round Brazilian national championship quest," explained Mink.
"These Cav players did a great job focusing on this game and the results showed on the field today. The restructuring of the defense, practices, and individual workouts are going to produce some great results in the months ahead.
I will miss these guys as they are family to me but with Paulo Barcelos and his staff they will be the dominating team in the Amazonas, and a top contender for a Brazilian National Championship.
I want to thank the Cavalier family for everything they did for me here in Brazil and I will miss them everyday. "
