Raging Tide Defeat Pittsfield Suns

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME- The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide defeated the Pittsfield Suns Sunday, to capture the franchise's first ever Playoff victory.

Evan Brisentine (Santa Clara) kept the Pittsfield Suns (0-1) off the board during his eight innings of work and the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (1-0) beat the Pittsfield Suns, 1-0.

Brisentine allowed seven hits, no walks and struck out seven. Fran Whitten (UMaine) brought in the only run for the Raging Tide after grounding in to a double play with the bases loaded to score Matt Pagano (Marist College) for the games only run.

Alex Basso ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed one run.

The Raging Tide will now play the Martha's Vineyard Sharks in the best of 3 series starting in Martha's Vineyard Sunday August 11th at 7:00pm.

Game two of the series will be played at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach on Monday, August 12th at 7:00pm with gates opening at 6:00pm. The game will mark the first time The Ballpark will host a home playoff game.
