Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
Broomfield, Colo. - The Central Hockey League announced today that Rocky Mountain Rage defenseman Clay Plume has been named the Oakley Player of the Week for the week of March 5 - 11. Plume becomes the first Rage skater to receive the league's weekly award for outstanding play.
Plume had a strong performance in all three games the Rage played last week, recording a total of five points (2g-3a) with a +6 rating. He was the chief catalyst for Rocky Mountain's come-from-behind effort in a 4-3 win on March 8 against the Wichita Thunder as the third-year d-man had a hand in all three goals (1g-2a) once the club fell behind 3-1. He then picked up an assist during a 5-3 loss to the Tulsa Oilers on March 9 before notching his seventh tally of the season during a 5-4 shootout loss to the Oilers on March 10.
Plume has racked up career bests in goals (7), assists (17), and points (24) this season, leading all Rage blue-liners in both goals and points. He is also one of just two players along with his defensive partner Craig Olynick that has appeared in all 56 of the team's games this season.
Rage netminder David Guerrera earned Oakley Goaltender of the Week accolades for the week of Dec. 25 - Dec. 31.
The Rage open a three game homestand on Wednesday, March 14, when they host the Amarillo Gorillas at Broomfield Event Center at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are still available with prices ranging from $9-$40 per seat and may be purchased online at www.BroomfieldEventCenter.com, by calling 303-410-TIXS, or at Broomfield Event Center's box office (11450 Broomfield Ln., Broomfield, 80021).
