RageFootball.com Metro High Team and Players For Week Three announced

September 13, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
RiverCity Rage News Release

Sometimes in sports, there is that one team who you can't seem to ever defeat and with Week 3, the Summit Falcons had to face that team in Cliff Ice's Webster Groves Statesman. Before Friday, Summit hadn't beaten Webster Groves since 1998, snapping an eight year streak. So, in picking up the long- awaited win, we have named the Summit Falcons as our ragefootball.com Team of the Week. The Falcons scored the only points in the first quarter when Joe Woodland connected with Rolandis Woodland for a 63 yard touchdown. But, by the end of the second quarter, Webster Groves had put 13 on the board and closed to within four. The game ended with a final score of 31-21 as the Falcons moved to 2-0 on the season and Webster Groves fell to 0-2. Quarterback Joe Woodland finished the game 11-17 with 203 yards and one touchdown, while Running Back A.J. Buxton rushed 22 times for 111 yards. George Henderson and Eric Pruetzel recorded an interception a piece for the Falcons.

Offensively, the last two weeks have seen running back take the ragefootball.com honor, but week 3 brings a different story, as Quarterback Andy Mundwiller of Borgia went 14-16 for 193 tossing two touchdowns while running for two more scores. Mundwiller is in his senior season with the Knights, who defeated the Greyhounds of Clayton 46- 21.

The defensive player this week is Artemus Jackson, who grabbed four interceptions for the Jennings Warriors in their 14-0 win over the Cleveland Commanders. Jackson also gathered 141 yards in defensive returns off of those interceptions. The win by Jennings moved them to 2-0 this season.

*NOTE Coaches and AD's do have a vote this year. Please send an E-mail to jarrod@ragefootball.com by noon on Monday with your choices for the Team Of the Week and Offensive and Defensive Players of the week.
