Rage have Beef for dinner

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team defeated the Omaha Beef, 36-18, at the Family Arena in St. Charles Saturday night. With the win, the Rage (3-0) remain perfect on the young season. Rage Linebacker Joe Bevis was named Player of the Game with 14 tackles (11 solo, 6 assisted). Offensively, the Rage were led by the passing-receiving duo of Quarterback Anthony Fisher (12-21 143yds, 3 TDs) and Receiver Hurtis Chinn (81 yds receiving, 2 TDs).
"We talk about finishing. That's how we finish," said Rage Coach Ken Stills. On Joe Bevis, coach said, "He had a great game. We need him to come out every game, just like he did tonight."
The Rage got on the board first as Derek Kutz nailed a 20-yard field goal midway through the first quarter. Omaha (1-2) followed with a field goal of their own on their next possession. Following another Kutz kick, good from 51 yards, the Beef took their only lead of the game. Quarterback James McNear found Kenny Horton on an 18-yard TD score, putting the Beef up 10-6. However, Fisher would hook up with Chinn on a go-ahead TD pass from 41 yards out to give the Rage the lead back at 12-10. Fisher ran in for a TD score with two minutes to go in the half to give the Rage an 18-10 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Rage were sparked by an early interception by Jabari Smith. Smith intercepted the ball on the five, and was forced back to the goal line. In a heads up play, Smith handed the ball off to Brandon Gregory, who returned the ball 22 yards, into Beef territory. The Rage defense never let up, holding the Beef to 42 total yards and tacking on 4 sacks in the second half.
Kutz added two second half field goals and Fisher threw for two more TD passes as the Rage never looked back in the game's final half. The undefeated Rage have next week off for a bye before hitting the road on April 5th. They will take on these same Beef in Omaha. You can always catch the action, live, on 100.7 FM KFNS.
