RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage fell at home to the Billings Outlaws in their regular season finale Saturday night, 44-23 in front of 3,333 fans at the Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. The Rage, having already clinched the number two seed and home field for next week's playoff game, got several new players onto the field for what Rage Head Coach, Ken Stills, called a 'test.'

"We wanted to win this game. No doubt about it," said Stills. "This was a test game for us. I wanted to know if these [new] gays were ready to play right now. I didn't want to wait until next week's playoff game and send them out for their first action. I hated to do that but we needed to see what we had."

Two Rage receivers saw action for the first time this season. St. Louis native, Virgil Union, caught six passes for 55 yards, with a long of 25. Newcomer Dorian Palmer added three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown. The Rage also gave backup quarterback, Darrell Jackson, extensive action, including running the team's no huddle offense. He was an impressive 4-7 for 40 yards and one touchdown.

The Rage took an early 10-0 lead in the opening quarter before Billings ripped off the game's next six scores. With Billings leading 39-10, Rage kicker Mike Matheny and Outlaws kicker Aaron Galvan traded two field goals a piece before Jackson hooked up with Palmer with 1:55 left in the contest to end the scoring.

Rage kicker, Mike Matheny, had another strong showing as the Mizzou alum was 3-4 on field goals and was perfect on two extra points. His only miss smacked off the upright on a 41-yard field goal attempt. "Matheny proved that he is ready for the playoffs," said Stills.

The Rage will be a home again next Saturday, June 21st as they host the Sioux City Bandits in round one of the UIF playoffs. Tickets are available right now and the prices could not be better. Front Row seats $10, Lower Level for $8 and Upper Level for just $5. Order yours today by calling (636) 896.4285 or visit ragefootball.com.
