Radio show sidelined indefinitely
May 16, 2005 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Fort Wayne Freedom News Release
Officials with Summit City Radio Group (SCRG) - the outlet for Freedom football broadcasts and the coaches show -announced Monday that 1250 AM was dropping the weekly coaches show, In The Huddle from its lineup effective immediately.
The Freedom regrets the decision of SCRG to drop the show and the inconvenience it creates for fans who've enjoyed the weekly show at Fricker's, a popular restaurant and sports bar on West Washington Center Road.
Team officials say they are in negotiations to find a new broadcast outlet for both the game broadcasts and the weekly show and are confident the show will find a broadcast home. SCRG made the format change from all sports Monday morning, opting for a music format for the long-time Fort Wayne radio station.
No decision has been reached regarding the status of Saturday's broadcast of the Freedom-Peoria game on the station. Fans are urged to confirm broadcast details prior to the game on www.fwfreedom.com.
