Laredo Law News Release
LAREDO, Texas â The Laredo Law season has come to a close on a high note. Law defensive specialist Traco Rachal had an interception this past Saturday in Tulsa to boost his af2 leading total to 10. For more information go on line at www.laredolaw.com.
Rachal, from Texas A&M-Commerce, completed his first season in af2. He finished atop the league interception totals with 10, tied with Eddie Moten of the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. Rachal finished tied for seventh with 25 passes defensed and eighth with 75.0 tackles.
"Traco is being nominated for af2 ADT Defensive Player of the Year," said Law head coach Scot Maynard. "It would be a big honor for him. He is up there in a lot of categories despite playing thru pain and injuries. He is a leader and a guy I see who has a chance to move up."
Last week Rachal was honored by af2 as the league's ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Wichita on July 24th. Earlier this season Rachal described what it felt like to intercept a pass.
"It's an adrenaline rush," said Rachal. "When the ball is in the air, it's anyone's ball. It doesn't have anyone's name on it. It's a great feeling to give your team an opportunity to capitalize off a mistake by the other team or to make a great play."
This past week against Tulsa he showed his versatility to the Law by playing both ways because of injuries. He caught two passes and returned a kickoff 52 yards for a TD.
