AKRON, OH - The Akron Racers announced today that four-time USA National Team member Sam Fischer has signed to play in the NPF for the 2016 season. The former Loyola Marymount All-American will suit up for Akron on opening day when the Racers travel to York, PA, to take on the Rebellion on March 31st.
"I am incredibly grateful to Coach Ken Eriksen for facilitating Sam's desire to play in the NPF and, in particular, for the Racers," noted the Racers GM, Joey Arrietta. "Sam is a blue-collar athlete whose fight to elevate her game every day speaks volumes about the player and person she has become. She is a perfect fit for our program."
Sam Fischer concluded her stellar career in a Lion uniform in 2012. She was the first Four-Time First- Team All-PCSC selection in school history and the first All-American in school history. Fischer was a three-time World Cup of Softball Gold Medalist and a two-time ISF World Championships Silver Medalist.
