Akron, OH, June 12, 2015 - The Akron Racers battled back for a (6-3) victory over the Pennsylvania Rebellion with an all around team effort.

The match up began with a tough first inning for the Racers, giving away three unearned runs to the Rebellion.

The Racers quickly came alive in the bottom of the second and were able to make up the deficit with a two run single by Cassie Tysarczyk (Texas A&M), an RBI single by Taylor Schlopy (Georgia) and an RBI single by Ashley Thomas (Georgia Tech).

The Rebellion refused to give in and the Racers found themselves with bases loaded in the top of the fourth. Tysarczyk made a catch in center field to end the inning and hold runners from advancing home.

In the bottom of the fifth inning Nerissa Meyers (Louisiana Lafayette) got things rolling again for the Racers with a hard hit single to center field. Megan Low (Texas- San Antonio) put the ball into play up the third base line, which allowed Meyers to score.

The Racers kept the momentum going in the following at bat with a RBI single to left field by Jill Barrett (Tulsa).

In the top of the seventh inning, Sarah Pauly (Texas A&M- Corpus Christi), Nerissa Myers and Megan Low carried out a seamless double play followed by a catch in left field by Jennifer Gilbert (Ball State) to close the game.

Racers' pitcher Sarah Pauly (2-0) threw the full game and picked up her second win of the season with four strikeouts. "After we got past the first, everything was fine," Pauly explains "Everyone was a little more relaxed after the first inning." Dagmar Bloeming took the loss for the PA Rebellion.

An hour rain delay pushed the game's initial start time back to 8:05pm EST. Regardless of the delay; a crowd of dedicated Racers fans joined the team for teachers night and for a Racers' win at Firestone Stadium.
