The Quebec Kebs have signed Cameroonian Center/Forward Simplice Njoya for the 2009 season.

Njoya, a 6'10'', 245 lbs interior presence, is a 2006 graduate of the University of Memphis, where he was a teammate of future NBA players Joey Dorsey, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Darius Washington and Shawne Williams. He began his collegiate career at Duquesne University, where he averaged over 9 pts per game as a freshman and sophomore, before transferring to Memphis.

He then played in the WBA for the North Mississippi Tornadoes, and last year in the CBA, with the Pittsburgh Xplosion.

"Simplice is a solid interior presence who played at a high level in college and is used to physical play, having battled the likes of Joey Dorsey everyday in practice. He also has two years of professional basketball under his belt, and will provide us with an interior presence to go along our perimeter scorers. Furthermore, he speaks French very well, which is great for our community and our fan base, and his maturity makes him a great fit with our local guys" says Head Coach and Director of basketball Operations, Charles Dube-Brais.

The Kebs will open up their training camp on November 22 and will begin preseason play shortly thereafter. They host the Manchester Millrats on Dec. 5 & 6 at the Juvenat Notre-Dame, a local high school located on the south shore of Quebec City, the second game also being the Champlain Cup opener, a season long tournament also featuring the Montreal Sasquatch and Vermont Frost Heaves.
