Quad City's Ty Rimmer Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 28, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Quad City Mallards goaltender Ty Rimmer has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 26, 2014.

The rookie goalie earned points in all three games for the Mallards in their trip to Brampton to take on the Beast. In Thursday's 4-1 win over the Beast, Rimmer took a shutout to the final couple of minutes before allowing a goal. He followed that up with a 35 save shutout performance on Friday night and then lost in overtime on Sunday despite once again stopping 35 shots.

The Edmonton native finished with 104 saves on 109 shots (.954 save percentage) and improves on the season to 9-8-4 with a 2.82 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.
