Quad City's Mickey Lang Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 21, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Quad City Mallards forward Mickey Lang has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 20, 2013.

Lang finished the week with three goals and four assists along with a +2 plus/minus rating. Most of the Hillsdale, New Jersey native's damage was done in Saturday night's 7-1 victory over Denver in front of the Flock's largest crowd in a decade (9,347). In the game, Lang notched a natural hat trick and assisted on three other Mallards goals finishing the night with six points (3G, 3A). The total is the most in a single game this season and the most since February of last season.

On the season, the second year pro has already eclipsed his numbers from his rookie season with 22 goals and 25 assists in 38 games (had 19 goals and 21 assists in 61 games last season). His 47 points are tied for fourth in the league and his 22 goals are third in the CHL.
