QMJHL Executive Committee adds a new member

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, August 29th, 2005 (QMJHL) - The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Mr. Gilles Courteau, announced today the addition of a new member to the QMJHL's Board of Governors Executive Committee following a resolution adopted by the Board of Governors at the General Annual Assembly of the Board of Governors held at the Inverary Resort in Baddeck, Cape Breton.

Mr. Louis Brousseau, Governor of the Drummondville Voltigeurs franchise, is named 2nd Vice-President of the Executive Committee and becomes its 5th member. He joins President, Mr. Camille Leblanc, Governor of the Rimouski Océanic; 1st Vice-President, Mr. Jean Brousseau, Governor of the Moncton Wildcats; Secretary, Mr. Gilles Guay, Governor of the Shawinigan Cataractes; and Treasurer, Mr. Gervais Munger, Governor of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. The members of the Executive Committee are nominated by the Board of Governors.

At the General Annual Assembly of member representatives held prior to the Annual Assembly of the Board of Governors, the members' representatives accepted to modify the League's constitution in order to ensure that there was adequate representation of the League's 18 entities on the Committee following the addition of the Saint John Sea Dogs (NB) and the St. John's Fog Devils (NL) - the two new expansion franchises slated to begin play in the upcoming 2005-06 season.
