LAKELAND, Fla. - Andrew Pullin set a new career-high by belting his tenth home run of the season, leading Clearwater in a 10-5 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers at Joker Marchant Stadium.

Pullin finished 3-for-5, as the Threshers collected 15 hits in completing the sweep over Lakeland (6-19). Willians Astudillo knocked home two runs in a 2-for-4 night, driving home six runs in the series.

Clearwater (18-8) struck first in the opening inning, with three straight two-out singles. Astudillo's liner through the right side scored Pullin to give the Threshers a 1-0 lead.

After Lakeland tied it in the bottom half, the Threshers went ahead for good by punching out three more runs in the third inning.

Carlos Tocci reached on an infield hit to lead off, and Pullin jumped on the first offering from Brennan Smith and crushed a two-run homer to right to put the Threshers in front. A Rhys Hoskins double and an Astudillo sac fly made it 4-1.

David Whitehead (7-8) tossed 5.2 innings in the start, permitting three runs on six hits and three walks. Two of the three runs against him came in his final inning of work.

Clearwater broke the game open in the seventh.

Up 5-3, the Threshers loaded the bases against reliever Adenson Verastegui with just one down. Chace Numata then stepped in and crushed the first pitch to deep left-center for a bases-clearing triple. Angelo Mora brought Numata around as well, delivering a sacrifice fly to right field to extend the lead to 9-3.

The Threshers brought across a final tally in the eighth inning, as Derek Campbell and Tocci each collected a double to make it a 10-3 game.

Tocci, Pullin, and Mora each finished with three hits on Tuesday, while Hoskins reached four times thanks to two hits and two walks.

Clearwater will be back home on Wednesday to open a six-game homestand, as the Threshers battle the Jupiter Hammerheads at 7:00 p.m. Victor Arano (3-9) will toe the rubber against Jose Adames (3-2), and the call can be heard live on the Threshers Broadcast Network starting at 6:45 p.m.
