
Pulaski Mariners Double up Johnson City

The Pulaski Mariners (14-12) took the opening game of a three game series against the Johnson City Cardinals (12-13) by the score of 8-4.
Pulaski rode to victory on the strength of a five-run eighth inning off of Cardinals' reliever Kevin Carlow (0-3, 11.68 ERA). Carlow was charged for all five runs over one-third of an inning.
Ricardo Pereira (1-1, 2.00 ERA) won his first game for Pulaski this season after coming in relief of starter Taylor Byrd (0-1, 5.29 ERA). Pereira pitched well over three-and-two-thirds innings while allowing a sole unearned run on zero hits.
Gianfranco Wawoe's two runs batted in lead the Mariners on Wednesday night. Estarlyn Morales went two-for-four with a double and a triple.
Carlton Tanabe singled in what was his twelfth consecutive game with a hit. His season batting average now rests at .371.
Pulaski will try to seize full control of the series tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
