Pros hire coaches

Detroit Pros News Release


The Detroit Pros have hired Warren Woods as head coach and Renardo Brown as assistant coach for the 2006 IBL season.

Warren Woods served as assistant coach for the Detroit Pros in 2005 and will continue to bring 18 years of coaching experience to the Pros organization. Mr. Woods has been serving as head coach of the girl's basketball team at Robichaud high school since 1988. Warren is from Inkster, Michigan and attended Robichaud high school as a basketball and track student athlete before graduating and joining the United States Navy from 1974-76. His integrity and demeanor will be a great asset to the Pro organization.

Renardo Brown is a former high school and college star with a wealth of experience as a coach and player. Renardo was runner up for the prestigious Mr. Basketball award for the state of Michigan in 1982 at Highland Park high school. Upon graduation, he accepted a scholarship to play in the Big East at West Virginia University where he was a four year starter from 1982-86. In 1987, Mr. Brown played professionally in the Continental Basketball Association for Savannah. He served as head coach for the boy's basketball team at Highland Park High School from 1994-97 and has continued to work with Warren Woods at Robichaud high school as an assistant coach over the years.
