Detroit Pros News Release
Inkster, MI - The International Basketball League's Detroit franchise confirmed this week that they intend to play all home games at the Inkster Recreation Complex.
The decision will continue a half century-long tradition in the Inkster community, as the center has hosted innumerable camps, community events, children's programs and exhibition games in its forty-plus year tenure. The venue, just 20 a minute drive from Detroit, seats nearly 1,000 spectators. The Detroit Pros franchise will commence their inaugural game at the complex against Grand Rapids on Saturday April 8th 2005 at 7:15 p.m.
The Inkster Recreation Complex carries particularly special sentiment for Owner Darryl Greene who has been playing basketball at the center since elementary school.
Greene has also helped facilitate the annual Inkster Legends Game where Inkster high school Alumni, known in the community as basketball legends-play an exhibition game against one another each summer.
