Pro Basketball Comes To The Central Valley

October 3, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Central Valley Dawgs News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Central Valley Dawgs will begin play in December. "We're very excited about this team and having the ABA back in Central Valley," said Joe Newman, ABA CEO. "Their goal is to bring great family fun and entertainment to the Central Valley while building up and giving back to the surrounding communities. This is a team made up of not only known professional players but also local players who want an opportunity to play pro ball."

"A new team in the Central Valley means new hope for our communities," added team owner/player Dominick Young. "We've watched some of these players grow up and they have some unmatchable athletic skills; we will be very competitive...guys like Ja' Vance Coleman, Demetrius Porter, Shannon Swillis and me, all of whom played for Fresno State University. We have some local high school standouts too and players from other colleges in the Central Valley."

The team will be playing at McDermont Field House thanks to the help of Rene Hernandez and the McDermott Fieldhouse staff. "This is a full service facility that is not only perfect for a pro team with a gym, meeting rooms, sponsor seating, but it is perfect for family fun," added Young.

The Dawgs also have a strong partnership with Fresno businesses such as Money Good Wireless Cricket located at 3890 N. Cedar Avenue and Money Good Entertainment. For more information, call 559 493 9872 or email centralvalleydawgs@yahoo.com or visit www.centralvalleydawgs.com or www.abalive.com.
