PrimeTime Players News Release
The PrimeTime Players won their second consecutive game Saturday, avenging their only loss of the season to the Wilmington Sea Dawgs, 109-85. The game opened much like it did in the season opener in Wilmington with PrimeTime racing out to an 18-4 lead. This time, however, they did not relinquish it, taking a 25-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. The Sea Dawgs struggled to find their rhythm early, shooting just 4-for-24 overall in the first quarter. PrimeTime stretched the lead to 53-32 at half time and cruised through the final two periods to claim the victory. Donald Rutherford led the way for PrimeTime with 21 points and 7 rebounds, while C.J. Pigford added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Brian Mobley tallied 14 points in his return from a back injury sustained in the season opener.Damien Brown carried the bulk of the load for the Sea Dawgs scoring 21 points and grabbing eight rebounds, while J.J. Cook registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Shelton Carter scored 18 points but struggled mightily from the field, shooting just 7-for-25. The Sea Dawgs had a rough night shooting all around as they were only able to knock down 33% of their attempts.
The PrimeTime Players will hit the road again next week, taking on the Cary Invasion on Saturday, April 21 at 7pm.
