Primetime Players Cruise to 8th Straight League Win

Smithfield, NC: Both teams started slowly on Saturday night in Smithfield, with neither team scoring a basket until the 8 minute mark of the first quarter. But PrimeTime soon found its gear and erupted for 66 first half points, led by forward Malachai Jones. The Carolina Gladiators opened with the first few buckets of the second half but could never get closer than 21 points. The final score was 127-100 in favor of the visiting PrimeTime Players. The Players (8-1) were led by Terell Smith with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Brian Mobley with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Charles Gamble had 28 points for Carolina Gladiators (1-11). PrimeTime plays next at home against the Wilmington Sea Dawgs on Friday, June 1. On Saturday, June 2, the Players will host the Cary Invasion in a game that will likely determine the TRBL point series champion and the top seed in the TRBL tournament.
