Pride's Steady Attack Keeps the Eagles Scoreless

Daytona Beach, Florida - The USSSA Pride slow and constant attack at the plate and in the circle was the difference maker on Wednesday night. In a true team effort the Pride had all the answers in their 5-0 victory over the Beijing Shougang Eagles.
The night started off with a couple one run innings for the Pride. The first run of the ball game was scored by Keeli Milligan who notched her first NPF run after being added to the Pride's roster this week. Then in the second inning, the second run of the ballgame was knocked in by another newcomer, Raegan Rogers. The RBI single would be her first career hit in her professional career and it scored her teammate, the NPF veteran, Megan Wiggins.
More runs came later in the ballgame when the Pride put it out of reach in the top of the 5th inning. Former Oklahoma Sooner, Sydney Romero had a RBI double that scored Allexis Bennett. Romero then was plated by Keeli Miligan who got her first career NPF hit via a RBI single making the score 4-0. The final run for the Pride was a loud solo homer from Sydney Romero which was hit on a rope over the centerifeld wall to put the cherry ontop of the Pride's steller night in Daytona Beach.
The Rip-it Player of the Game was starting pitcher Taran Alvelo who had a fantaic performance that was over shadowed by the newcomers success for the Pride. The former Washington Huskie pitched six full innings without allowing a run and notched herself 5 strikeouts. Alvelo was pulled after letting the first two Eagles aboard and Jailyn Ford closed out the seventh inning.
The Eagles and Pride will continue their series tomorrow in Viera, FL before returning back to Daytona Beach on Friday. Friday will consist of a doubleheader for the Eagles as they will face the Pride and Chicago Bandits.
